A full-time opening in our Accounting Department to support HOPES expansion. 

Hybrid remote position in Reno, NV.

The purpose of the Accounting Assistant role is to assist the finance department in performing daily accounting tasks in support of the financial team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the organization’s accounting operations run smoothly and efficiently.  

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivable information is recorded in the general ledger.   This role acts as the primary point of contact between staff and vendors and the accounting department and is therefore responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

 This role also assists with a variety of accounting and grant management functions as assigned.

Position Requirements

* Due to real and potential conflicts of interest that exist when HOPES Behavioral Health providers render services to their coworkers, it is HOPES’ policy (Policy HR0005) that HOPES employees may not access HOPES Behavioral Health Services. For the same reason, current Behavioral Health patients/clients cannot be employed by HOPES. Accordingly, you hereby acknowledge and understand that if you are receiving services from a HOPES Behavioral Health provider at the time you are offered and accept employment with HOPES, you have the option of rescinding your acceptance of employment or finding a new behavioral health provider outside of HOPES before starting employment with HOPES.

  • Prior education and/or 1-2 years’ experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, and/or grants management required. Accounting or Finance based education may be considered in lieu of accounting experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistency in accounting treatment required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on interacting with staff, vendors and clients in a kind, clear and professional manner required.
  • Ability to prioritize and project manage a variety of responsibilities required
  • Clear communication regarding areas of responsibility to include status updates, concerns, challenges, timeline negotiation, etc. required.
  • Ability to work well individually and self-start and jump in and assist as part of the team required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting and normal account balances preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable payroll and IRS regulations preferred.

Salary Range $20.50/hr - $22.75/hr
