Seeking a Facilities Technician

Our Jack of All Trades!

The primary purpose of the Facilities Technician is to provide support throughout the facilities department to ensure and safe, healthy environment.Our Facilities Technician will assist where needed in the environmental upkeep of the HOPES Facilities. In the course of the role, this technician will perform minor maintenance, basic installation, general construction, painting, basic electrical and plumbing work, dry walling, landscaping, janitorial cleaning; use heavy duty cleaning equipment; load and unload deliveries and implement inventory control.

  • Janitorial Duties: Cleaning and janitorial services including biohazardous clean up, stocking and maintaining cleaning supplies and using carpet and floor cleaning equipment.
  • Maintenance Duties: Fulfill help desk tickes and routine maintenance of the building including general electrical, plumbing, dry wall and painting. Assembling of furniture and hanging pictures.
  • Landscaping Duties: Maintains outdoor areas free of weeds and trash. May assist with basic sprinkler repair.
  • Related Duties: Assists with deliveries, office moves, inventory, and set up and take down of events.

Position Requirements

We are seeking an individual who is competent in basic trade work and has janitorial and landscaping skills. Equally important is the ability to put our patients first, communicate with others, problem-solve on your feet and think proactively.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in janitorial work, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, or handyman required
  • Able to safely utilize a variety of hand tools required.
  • Ability to read and understand labels and Safety Data Sheets in the English language required.
  • Excellent communication and ability to effectively listen required.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more required.
  • Ability to lift/move furniture if needed.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand, and walk, for long periods of time required.
  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate according to priorities and be well organized
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures regarding safety, customer service, proper attire and working conditions such as hours and timekeeping
  • Proficient in Spanish/English, written and verbal preferred
  • Working experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
