In addition, FDI has a Wildlife Sanctuary at Wedgewood, which is a peaceful, 75-acre reserve that is home to an impressive variety of interior Alaska's wildlife. The sanctuary, a model wetlands restoration project, offers nature trails and observation decks. If you aspire to quality and excellence in service, we look forward to the opportunity to review your application.   Description Position Summary: Assist with training, supervising, support and participation in duties required to maintain the grounds at all properties owned by Fountainhead Development, Inc. Duties: Set positive and professional example for other employees regarding appearance, enthusiasm, attitude, attendance and performance Assist with planning and managing employee work requirements Assist with creating and managing employee work schedules Assist with training employees in proper processes and procedures for successful performance Assist with ensuring employees are trained on and using the time and attendance system Report concerns regarding employee attendance, performance and conduct to the manager Assist employees with problem solving Prepare, plant and maintain flowerbeds Water lawns, shrubs, hanging baskets and flowerbeds Rake and bag leaves Use power push and riding lawn mowers to maintain lawns Trim and edge walkways, flowerbeds and walls using clippers, weed cutters and edging tools Pick up and dispose of litter Sweep walkways Work effectively with all members of the crew Answer inquiries about flowers and plants, as well as hotel services and directions Communicate with other hotel employees and managers as needed to meet guest's needs and maintain smooth operation of hotel functions Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people and property Other duties as assigned   Position Requirements Education, Knowledge and Skills: Valid Alaska Driver’s License required Driving record sufficient to meet company insurance standards required Previous grounds keeping/landscaping experience preferred Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in general grounds care Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, not interrupting, and asking questions as appropriate Able to lift 60 lbs. Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use and dexterity of arms, legs, and moving the whole body, such as climbing, reaching, grabbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, stretching, and handling of materials Work Values: Attention to detail – being careful about detail and thorough in completing tasks Integrity – being honest and ethical Dependability – being reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling obligations Cooperation – being pleasant with others and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude Coordination – adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions   Location Wedgewood Resort   Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Wage Starts at $12.50 per hour.   Shift Days   Hours Generally 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
