Position School-Based Therapist  
Description

Southeast Healthcare is looking for a qualified licensed therapist with a desire to work in a school setting with children and adolescents who are experiencing mental health issues. The Therapist will establish therapeutic relationships, provide behavioral health counseling, linkage and referral, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify mental health concerns, behavioral issues, and developmental challenges in children and adolescents. 
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of each patient. 
  • Employ various therapeutic techniques, such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care. 
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. 
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care. 
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, therapy sessions, and treatment plans. 
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during times of need. 
  • Advocate for the mental health needs of children and adolescents.

Position Requirements
  • BA/BS required; LSW/LPC required. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Chemical dependency credential a plus.
  • Experience with SPMI and/or SUD population preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and healthcare services.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
