JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes but not limited to the following:

  1. Screens incoming calls, responds to routine inquiries from internal departments and external sources.
  2. Collects, reviews, and analyzes data, prepares presentations, reports, spreadsheets, as needed by the purchasing team.
  3. Handles inventory levels and forecast needs for ordering new merchandise; ensures that quantities, shipping information and costs associates with purchases are accurate. Maintains purchasing department inventory control database, an sets-up a schedule to discontinue inactive inventory.
  4. Regularly communicates directly with vendors and suppliers (coordinates delivery schedules, communicates price changes and product availability, and interacts with internal departments to complete orders and maintain accuracy of records). 
  5. Participates in the vendor negotiation process that involves reviewing vendor contracts, product quality, availability of products, on-time shipment deliveries, and works with vendors as needed to resolve discrepancies.
  6. Collaborates with internal and external departments to promote Brands on a schedule or timeline, depending on inventory levels.
  7. Assists with processing orders (verifying completeness and accuracy of orders).  
  8. Prepares memos, purchasing reports, emails, correspondence, and research data for relevant internal departments.
  9. Schedules and coordinates meetings, travel arrangements, and other group activities related to purchasing department.
  10. Works with purchasing team to learn the company’s internal processes and purchasing controls and general aspects of the job.
  11. Shall perform and complete other related administrative and clerical responsibilities and projects as assigned/necessary;
  12. May be delegated, tested, or given an opportunity to be cross-trained for other duties.
 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Some Purchasing experience preferred. Exposure on video game accessories, toys and mobile & audio categories – HIGHLY PREFERRED!
  • Competency in identifying, recording, tracking and keeping abreast of any market conditions or changes that might affect the demand, as well as the supply and the need for products that might make a difference in company projections and goals;
  • Experience working within a distribution environment and understanding the role that a distributor plays within the supply chain ecosystem - HIGHLY PREFERRED;
  • Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in a sales position working with resellers or business to business customers;
  • Only qualified candidates with previous purchasing knowledge or administrative skills will be considered;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication aptitude and interpersonal skills;
  • Must be willing to negotiate with suppliers and/or partners;
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong decision-making skills if needed;
  • Must be able to meet critical deadlines and achieve organizational objectives;
  • Expected to work independently and take initiative owning the position and showing proactive drive all the way;
  • Must possess and demonstrate experience developing and working with company’s purchasing programs, rebate programs as well as warranty management programs
  • Should possess the ability to represent the company professionally;
  • Should possess ability to handle crisis and problem-solving skills;
  • Admirable customer service orientation;
  • Strict attention to details;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment;
  • Can work flexible hours to liaise with Asia team & partners overseas;
  • Must be willing to strongly adapt and commit to the company’s core values and culture;

  • Position requires proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, Google Sheets, and other Internet Resources (typing requirements: 50-60 wpm minimum).
  • Work well under extreme pressure and deadlines;
  • Must be able to work long hours if necessary;
  • Passion in video game, toys, and/or collectibles industry – a BIG PLUS!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to:

  • College diploma GED certification or any corresponding qualification from a certified college;
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in retail, supply chain management, store management, material procurement or related field - with 2 to 3 years of experience in retail or store purchases - PREFERRED.
  • At least two (2) years of purchasing work experience in electronic and consumer goods company – a BIG PLUS!
