All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Description The Airport Civil Designer will be tasked with assisting with the development of plans and specification for airport as well as roads, general civil/site development, and other airport related projects. The Airport Civil Designer will also assist Senior Engineers or Project Managers to provide construction support for airport projects during the construction season. Construction support duties may include assuring contractor compliance with plans and specification, quantity tracking. Client communication is necessary as well. Duties Include: Uses knowledge of the general concepts of relevant civil engineering elements including the design of roadways, runways, taxiways and aircraft parking aprons drainage, grading, etc. Performs civil engineering design tasks on assigned transportation or development related projects. Performs calculations and analyses in support of project design development Assists in the preparation of engineering calculations, project document reports, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects. Attends and assists in client/contractor/stakeholder meetings to gain a better understanding of client's goals. Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate correct actions. Utilizes relevant software programs to prepare exhibits and complex working drawings. Continues to develop skills using software programs for design and/or drafting. Performs duties as an on-site quality assurance resident engineer/resident inspector during construction of airport related development projects and other civil/site development projects. Performs other duties as appropriate and as assigned with an emphasis on professional growth and development to meaningful project management skills and abilities. Design rehabilitation and new construction plans of runways, taxiways, and aircraft aprons Advise clients from inception to completion on terminal development, site selection, alternative master planning, and strategic design for maximum use of available real estate Review construction plans, specifications, cost, and schedule with Construction Representatives during the construction phase to ensure constructability, cost, and schedule are on track Lead efforts of QA/QC inspection, and project close-out Participate in aspects of business development to increase community awareness and contract procurement Demonstrate familiarity with industry players and be active in strategic business planning   Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Survey Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering/Management Technology from ABET accredited program Experience as an engineer at an engineering or construction related firm is preferred Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Experience in airport/aviation engineering industry Ability to exercise sound professional judgement, creativity, and innovation Verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Position Airport Design   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   This position is currently not accepting applications.
