Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Team Lead is primarily responsible for the accurate kitting of customer products in the kitting areas. The kitting areas are also used for batch shipping, batch returns processing, product sortation, and batch ecommerce prep. The TL can be assigned these types of jobs as well as normal kitting responsibilities. The TL is responsible for the temporary labor assigned to these tasks ensuring the output and quality meet the customers’ expectations. The TL is also responsible for the inventory that is pulled for each job or function. The TL keeps accurate timesheets for each job run to ensure that accurate job costing is performed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the operation of the batch processing system in the manual and automatic modes.
  • Setup and run a kitting line with up to 50 temporary associates while ensuring output and quality are maintained.
  • Train associates in each step of the kitting process to ensure output goals are met.
  • Perform Job setup from assembly instruction and product samples.
  • Regularly pull samples from the build line to ensure quality of the product kitted.
  • Accurate time keeping of job costing data and kits built.
  • Supports the other operational departments in any capacity when needed.
  • Provides feedback to the supervisor on ways to continuously improve processes.
  • Ability to work Overtime and Weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to operate a PC and understand how navigate inside of the WMS.
  • Must be trained and proficient on automatic lines to aide in the training process of all Machine Operators.
  • Complies with all safety and health policies, procedures and practices; actively supports safety improvement initiatives; uses materials and equipment in an appropriate and safe manner; carries out all tasks in a manner to not create a hazard to oneself or others.
  • Supports organizational goals and values.
  • Performs other duties as required.
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge:

  • High school diploma/GED or higher degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment

Supervisory Responsibility

Must be able to supervise and effectively lead Line Leads and kitting teams of up to 120 people on a 12-hour shift.

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside in heat/cold conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May be required to work overtime.
