Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position is also responsible for floor safety.

Expected Results: labor to revenue and quality targets achieved, effective and professional communication.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute department production plan and ensure department policies are followed.
  • Record production data and provide feedback to the teams on performance.
  • Ensure effective employee relations.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Work to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Provide employee coaching and development.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
  • Complies with all safety and health policies, procedures and practices; actively supports safety improvement initiatives; uses materials and equipment in an appropriate and safe manner; carries out all tasks in a manner so as to not create a hazard to oneself or others.
  • Supports organizational goals and values.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Conducts production employee training, explaining and demonstrating internal processes and procedures.
  • Complies with all safety and health policies, procedures and practices; actively supports safety improvement initiatives; uses materials and equipment in an appropriate and safe manner; carries out all tasks in a manner so as to not create a hazard to oneself or others.
  • Supports organizational goals and values.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge:

  • High school diploma/GED or higher degree
  • 3-5 years related of related production and warehouse experience
  • Previous experience as department lead or supervisor

Supervisory Responsibility

Must be able to supervise and effectively counting and audit teams of up to 20 people on a 8-hour shift.
