Job Specific Competencies:
- Service and Warranty
- Evaluates, Troubleshoots, Estimates and repairs defective product
- Maintains warranty database
- Issues Return Goods Authorization (RGA) numbers to customers
- Schedules service activities
- Assists in determining if ACTIA product is reason for failure within Customer’s application
- Builds/requests necessary testing fixtures, equipment and tools for department
- Assists managing Service and Warranty department inventory
- Assists Sales Department and production with printed circuit assembly rework
- Quality
- Identifies defect trends
- Initiates corrective actions
- Occasionally assists with equipment calibrations
- Collaboration
- Occasionally provides technical support to ACTIA’s tier 1 customers
- Collaborates with other departments as necessary to assist with repairs
- Legal Compliance
- Ensure legal compliance with state, federal and OSHA requirements
- Ensure ISO procedures are followed
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications and Education
- 2 year technical degree or 2 plus years’ experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronic product is required.
- IPC solder training or certification preferred
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and assembly prints, required
- Knowledge in ISO9001 Quality Management system preferred
- Knowledge and experience with board level repairs is required
- Knowledge and experience using various Office equipment (i.e. Computer, copier, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to communicate in English both verbal and written
Working Conditions
Movement
This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and on the production floor. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Operate/Use
Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e. copier, printer, calculator)
Specific Vision Abilities
Close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Ascend/Descend
Rarely ascends/descends stairs to reach archived files
Communicate
This position frequently communicates with co-workers, managers and supervisors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Transport
This position frequently lifts or moves 10 pounds, occasionally moves up to 25 pounds for various needs.
Work Environment
Relatively quiet but fast paced.
Travel
Occasional travel to customers and vendors, with overnight stays, may be required.
