Position Production Technician  
Description

Join the immersive world of ART, MUSIC & AMUSEMENT at AREA15, where the boundaries between reality and limitless creativity blur. Welcome to the "What's Next District.”

As a Production Technician, you'll ensure flawless operation, maintenance, and execution of audiovisual elements, contributing to daily operations and events. You'll oversee setup and execution of all events, maintain equipment, troubleshoot electronics, and collaborate across departments for an exceptional entertainment experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Safe, accurate and prompt setup and operation of equipment for assigned events.

  • Testing all equipment before each event to ensure optimal performance and timely troubleshooting of any issues.

  • Ensure compliance with established venue policies (safety, security, cleanliness, and operational procedures).

  • Build, operate, strike, and store production elements: stage deck, truss, lighting, speakers, microphones, stands, cables, cable ramps, sandbags, consoles, and accessories.

  • Maintain safety during setup, operation, and storage of production equipment.

  • Maintain and upkeep the cleanliness of FOH areas, event venues, and surrounding areas.

  • Notify Management of any issues with house equipment and supply inventory status.

  • Ensure venue compliance with city and state regulations (sound levels, noise curfews, emergency egress, and ADA access).

  • Implement AREA15's emergency response plans when necessary.

  • Follow event and venue operating policies and procedures.

  • Completion of company-provided training materials required before the probationary period ends.

  • Exhibit ART! (AREA15's service standards) at all times.

  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to AREA15 standards.

  • Cultivate a professional team atmosphere.

  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment with varying levels of sound, crowds, and smoke/haze.

  • Ability to stand, bend and walk for most of the shift.

  • Open availability with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Minimum 3 years of production experience in a performing arts center, music venue, or related field.

  • Related experience in production planning, budgeting, execution, and management is preferred.

  • Proficient organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to function efficiently and amiably in a fast-paced, customer service environment.

  • Ability to lift & carry 50lbs unassisted.

  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills preferred.

  • Working knowledge of computer coding, web design, content creation, and development.

  • Familiarity with production hardware and software (Dante, DMX, electrical systems, networking, Resolume).

  • Proficiency in lighting consoles (GrandMA 2) and media servers (Disguise, Analog Way, Medialon).

  • Must have the ability to withstand high temperatures, heat and sun exposure, and varying weather conditions.
