Job Title: Collision Center Body Technician

Department: Collision Center

Reports To: Collision Center Director and Service Operations Director

Job Status: Full-Time, exempt

 

Job Summary:

Bomnin Automotive is seeking a talented Collision Body Technician to join our Collision Center team. As a Collision Body Technician, you will be responsible for performing high-quality automotive body repairs, ensuring the safety, integrity, and visual appeal of our customers' vehicles. Your role will play a crucial part in maintaining our reputation for excellence in collision repair services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Body Repair: Expertly repair and restore damaged vehicle bodies, panels, and structural components, including welding, Full frame and unitized vehicle measuring and alignment, Aluminum body and structural repairs, SMC and fiberglass repairs, dent removal, and panel replacement.
  2. Quality Assurance: Inspect completed repairs to ensure they meet industry standards and follow manufacturer specifications, maintaining the highest level of workmanship.
  3. Efficiency: Execute repairs efficiently and within established timeframes, meeting or exceeding productivity goals.
  4. Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, follow OSHA safety procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  5. Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on repair progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
  6. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other Collision Center team members, including mechanics, painters, and estimators, to ensure a coordinated workflow and exceptional repair outcomes.
 
Position Requirements

Requirements:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary automotive training or certification preferred.
  2. Experience: Proven experience as an automotive collision body technician.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using body repair tools, equipment, and technology.
  4. Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive body repair methods, materials, and paint application techniques.
  5. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  6. Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Communication: Strong communication and customer service skills.
  8. Physical Stamina: Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  9. Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

 

Other Required Trainings:

  1. OSHA Safety Procedures: Successfully complete OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) safety training programs as required for the automotive repair industry. This includes but is not limited to hazard communication, electrical safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE) training.
  2. ASE/AATI Certification: obtain and maintain ASE or AATI structural and non-structural certifications.
  3. I-CAR training and certifications: obtain and maintain current I-CAR training as well as related welding certifications.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Use of body repair tools, including welding equipment.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including dust and fumes.

 

Work Environment:

The Collision Body Technician will work in a well-equipped automotive repair facility within the Collision Center department. The work environment may involve exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures. Safety precautions and personal protective equipment will be provided to ensure a safe working environment.

 

Other Duties:
