Description

Under the general direction of the Branch Manager, provide excellent member service to the membership, perform cashiering functions, look for cross sell opportunities and provide other administrative support as needed in a manner consistent with the Credit Union's mission and philosophy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TELLER I and II

  • Accept savings and loan payments from members in person, by mail or over the phone; disburse Line of Credit and Visa loan advances and withdrawal of savings; receipt all miscellaneous cash transactions, transfer funds between members' accounts.
  • Prepare checks for processing.
  • Balance cash drawer.
  • Meet targeted cross sell goals as outlined in the incentive plan.
  • Provide routine information concerning Credit Union services and members' accounts, in accordance with Credit Union policy.
  • Process the ATM cash acceptance.
  • Order checks online through vendor.
  • Record and process night depository.
  • Cooperate and work with co-workers as a team member.
  • Promote, cross-sell, and council members on Credit Union products and services in a professional and consistent manner.
  • Ability to open and close the department on a daily basis in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Performs all responsibilities in accordance with CW Values, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
  • Attend training and comply with CWCU policies and procedures as well as applicable State and Federal regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

    TELLER II
  • Assist other employees in understanding policies, procedures and practices of the Credit Union
  • Prepare Wire Transfers
  • Prepare ACH Forms
  • Set Up Internal Reoccurring Transfer Requests
  • Process Stop Payment Requests
  • Help balance Vault and Cash Recyclers daily
  • Help with Month End tasks
  • Open Additional Shares for Members
  • Close Additional Accounts when necessary
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

TELLER I and II

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
  • Proficient math skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Good organizational and clerical skills, including calculator and keyboarding.
  • Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to present professional image when dealing with members, co-workers, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member by using discretion in decision making and sound judgement in problem solving.
  • Ability to process large volumes of account transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong desire to market and refer Credit Union products and services.

TELLER II

  • Good interpersonal skills to ensure member issues are handled in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Must be goal oriented with a strong desire to exceed established expectations.
  • Strong desire to help lead and set an example for your team.
  • Effectively able to manage multiple projects and work through constant interruptions.
  • Successful completion of required credit union coursework

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

TELLER I and II

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Minimum of 12 months prior Teller experience within a financial institution, retail sales or customer service position involving cash handling experience required.

TELLER II

  • In addition to the above requirements, a minimum of 6 months proven success as a teller I; including work load, minimal errors and maintaining the minimum sales expectations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals and projects. In addition available for Saturday hours.
  • Ability to sit or stand within proximity of a computer terminal for extended periods.
  • Vision (or corrected) to the normal range.
