HR Business Partner / Employee Relations Specialist 

Description

The HR Business Partner/Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for daily HR operation activities including recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations and employee engagement for eMolecules compound management divisions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates full cycle recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, interviewing, conducting reference checks and selecting candidates for assigned business unit. Works with business unit management to ensure appropriate screening and interviewing practices are followed
  • Leads all new hire onboarding efforts ensuring new employees successfully assimilate
  • Enters and reviews all HR data in HRIS for assigned business unit(s)
  • Conducts regular meetings with business unit management providing HR guidance and ensuring HR activities are aligned with business needs.
  • Acts as the go-to HR resource supporting employee and managers with all aspects of employee relations and policies and procedures interpretation
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (i.e. coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.)
  • Handles all employee relations matters in assigned business unit including coaching managers, conducting investigations, create and gather documentation, and coordinate escalations when necessary
  • Works closely with business unit management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and increase retention
  • Supports talent development initiatives including employee development plans and facilitating training and leadership development programs.
  • Administers and tracks all leave of absences and workers’ compensation claims ensuring all applicable labor laws are applied and documented accordingly.
  • Works with HR Manager in updating/creating job descriptions for business unit, will assist in reviewing compensation trends in geographic territory.
  • Administers the performance management program, including annual reviews, for assigned business unit. Will assist with reviewing and communicating merit increases
  • Assists HR leadership with internal communication initiatives
  • Facilitates employee activities at designated business unit site(s) by participating and supporting People Team initiatives. Embodies cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture. Act as a change agent and culture champion to ensure we are always thinking about an exceptional employee experience
  • Maintains regular work schedule onsite and is free from excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not have direct reports, however, will be a coach and mentor to supervisors and managers. Will lead and train supervisors/managers within organization on policies, procedures, leadership best practices and HR systems.

 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Leadership, or business discipline; or equivalent training and experience
  • 3+ years’ of human resources employee relations and recruitment work experience; comprehensive understanding employment laws and regulations and working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines such as performance management, diversity, organizational diagnosis, recruiting
  • PHR or SHRM Certification (SHRM-CP) preferred
  • Prior HR experience within a lab/warehouse/distribution enviornment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be very detail oriented
  • High degree of personal initiative and achievement motivation, setting personal standards of excellence and ongoing performance improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and details. Can take action without direction to make sure important tasks are completed. Proactively looks for ways to improve processes and shifts strategy or approach in response to the demands of a situation
  • Able to ask the right questions, collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make clear, consistent decisions
  • Self-confident and able to adapt to changing environments. Knowledge of change management theories and drive positive change.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, tact, and poise in handling highly sensitive, and confidential information
  • Ability to maintain regular, consistent office hours working in our Newark, Delaware office

Computer Skills

  • 2+ years’ experience with HR systems/database management
  • Intermediate Excel and Powerpoint experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Google applications required.
