SUMMARY:  Supports and coordinates the Human Resource functions in the Company. Position requires strong interpersonal skills. This position requires a high level of confidentiality dealing with a variety of personnel and management issues. A high level of accepted Human Resource practices and procedures will be utilized in this position. Position represents the Company in a positive image working with our employees, customers, and community in a safe and ethical manner to achieve financial success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides support in functional areas of Human Resources including but not limited to recruitment and employment in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and government regulations, personnel records, files, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organizational development, workers compensation, safety, training, orientation, accident investigation, AAP/EEO and special projects. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacancies.  Assists in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications and/or meetings. Prepares reports in conformance with legislated and legal requirements or company needs. Follows all workplace processes and standards in support of the ISO-9001 Quality certification program.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

-EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and one to two-years related experience and/or training.

-LANGUAGE /COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general publc.

-MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

-SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Must possess strong interpersonal skills.  Must demonstrate good communication skills both written and oral. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects. Must possess excellent personal computer skills and having working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. Must have Internet experience.

-REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

-CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Prefer PHR ( Professional Human Resource) certification status from the Society of Human Resource Management.
