Perform secondary machining operation on powdered metal parts using the CNC Machine by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Follow all TS 16949 Procedures and Work Instructions relevant to your work area when performing all duties.

Depress buttons to start machining operation.

Position and secure part in chuck by hand and stepping on foot petal.

Inspects first run piece and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications.

Observes cutting action of machine to detect excessive wear or malfunction.

Decides on station and timing of each operation to assure efficient use of tools and time.

Requires competency with machine controllers.

Makes offsets when necessary to maintain both quality and production standards.

Use mics, indicators, veniers and other gages to inspect parts to precision tolerances.

Ability to operate a forklift to replenish parts and packaging materials.

Package parts per instructions.

Completion of daily paperwork for quality and production documentation is required.

Must have the ability to work as a team payer.

Must be self motivated and have the ability to perform machining duties at established productions rate.

Must be able to work with minimum supervision.

This position requires adherence to all safety and health standards.

Perform other production duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be licensed to operate a forklift.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne metal chips. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
