About the Organization Equipment Source, Inc. (ESI) designs, develops, and builds quality, innovative worksite products for the oil, mining, construction and agriculture industries, while also distributing and servicing Kubota Tractor products.

Founded in 2000, ESI began as a heater reconditioning company for the North Slope oil fields. since then ESI has continued a tradition of innovative designs for extreme industrial applications. Description

Ideal Candidate: A dynamic self-starter with a proven track record of excellence and a desire for personal and professional growth.

Position Summary: Sell ESI products, grow ESI's commercial footprint, and provide exceptional customer service in Anchorage and the surrounding areas. Create new relationships through a combination of cold calling, referrals, and community outreach. Retain new and existing business through established relationships and selling products and services that meet the customer's needs.

Duties:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Equipment Source, Inc. products, services and pricing structure
  • Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning, organizing, and implementing outside sales strategies
  • Answer questions regarding the business and its products
  • Describe merchandise and explain/demonstrate use, operation and care
  • Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business
  • Determine customer needs and propose appropriate solutions, including product development and services needs
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers
  • Complete scheduled and cold call prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and respond accordingly
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, customer satisfaction, etc.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and collaborating with key decision makers
  • Follow procedures to provide ongoing customer support, product maintenance and service
  • Compute sales prices and total purchases, create and provide price quotes and invoices, and receive and process cash or credit payment
  • Travel as necessary to complete tasks
  • Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people and property
  • All other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Education, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Eligible to legally work in the United States
  • A valid Alaska Driver’s License required
  • A copy of a current driving record that will meet company insurance standards required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field preferred
  • 3 years outside business-to-business sales experience required; with a proven track record of success
  • 2 years of construction/industrial sales required
  • Previous cold call experience
  • Able to learn, understand and use computer software and hardware, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Able to present and communicate in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, to include assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluation customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting and selling products or services; with strong presentation, negotiation and closing skills
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Strong communication skills that include the ability to listen to, read, understand, write and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, train and respond; effectively conveying information to others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Able to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision; identifying what needs to be done and following through without instruction to meet or exceed goals
  • Able to prioritize and effectively manage time to complete tasks, thoroughly, accurately and timely
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving the whole body, to include, but not limited to, sitting, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, standing, and climbing and descending stairs; to operate equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of office equipment and computer keyboard; to verbally communicate to exchange information; to see and hear within a reasonable range for an office/sales/shop environment with or without correction.
