Intellectual Concepts, LLC is focused on the full range of Smart Infrastructure Services for the transportation industry. We design, construct, install, integrate, operate, monitor and maintain a wide variety of Transportation Infrastructure Assets/Technologies for our customers and our communities.

JOB TITLE: ITS Technician

JOB CLASS: Hourly, Full Time

JOB HOURS: 40 Hour Week, Typically M-F 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with possible variations to accommodate specific project requirements. Occasional overtime and weekend work as requires.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, wire, integrate, and program the following - Poles, Cabinets, IVDS, Radar, CCTV Cameras, Encoders, Decoders, Field Switches, Lowering Devices, and all related hardware.

• Receives training and instruction on surveying from Engineer.

• Load and unload survey equipment to and from work vehicle.

• Set up backsights and foresights, and stake reference points.

• Use a machete as needed to perform light clearing for data collection.

• Drive nails, stakes and hubs into surfaces using a hammer.

• Maintain and operate survey instruments.

• Accurately and correctly use data collection codes.

• Correctly make measurements using a tape measure.

• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.

• Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.

• Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.

• Following the safety rules and regulations of the Company & OSHA regulations.

• Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain security badges and training certifications that are necessary to enter sites and perform work (ie. GDOT, ALDOT, MARTA, etc.)

• Available to work out of town if the job requires.

• Available to work overtime, occasional weekends.

• Safe handling and use of all equipment assigned.

• Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform a task.

• Driver's license required. (Must be able to meet our insurance requirements.)

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

• Skilled in various task as listed above• Minimum 1 year experience in job related field.

• Ability to work strenuously outside in all types of weather.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. for short distances.

• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.

• Ability to work on uneven terrain.

• Ability to understand installation manuals for all various types of equipment (CCTV, VDS, Field Switches, Encoders, Decoders, DMS)

• Good computer skills

• Ability to read and understand digital displays on various types of electronic devices.

• Ability to follow directions to complete various job tasks.

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

• Ability to work with others in a team setting.

• Ability to properly hear and understand or interpret verbal job site instructions and properly perform such instructions.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• May require frequent exposure to adverse and hazardous environmental conditions, including but not limited to excessive noise levels, inclement weather conditions, exposure to wastewater, working in congested residential areas, in and around main highways and roads, trenches, and deep excavations. Employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, noises, fumes, odors, water, and mud..

• Must be able to perform physical tasks such as walking long distances, standing for long periods, frequently lifting and moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and moving up to 100 pounds. Work may require climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, walking on uneven ground, squatting, crawling, and grasping.
