Description

Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Production Engineer to report to the Lead Production Engineer. The Production Engineer will be a key member of our Production team and be expected to manage an assigned area of production, working side by side with a full asset team, manage flowback and initial lift install, troubleshoot failures and design workover procedures, manage chemical programs, and manage LOE for the area. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Manage an assigned production area within the Delaware Basin, with an emphasis on new and existing horizontal wells producing on gas lift's or with ESP'S
  • Work closely with a full asset team field operations, reservoir, drilling, completions and facilities engineering, geology, land, and regulatory groups
  • Coordinate with the field operations teams to optimize base production and reduce downtime. Spend time in the field on a weekly basis
  • Design, analyze, and optimize artificial lift systems, including gas lifts, ESP's, rod pumps, jet pumps and plunger lifts
  • Manage and optimize chemical programs treating scale, corrosion, H2S, etc.
  • Create AFE's for new drill flowbacks, workovers, recompletions, and well maintenance operations
  • Coordinate with wellsite supervisor and service providers to execute workover procedures
  • Lead regularly scheduled well reviews with field operations and reservoir engineers
  • Analyze well failures, make and implement recommendations for optimization
  • Track and monitor LOE and capital spending to ensure compliance with budgets
  • Demonstrate Health, Safety & Environmental leadership
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, Petroleum preferred.
  • Recommended minimum of 3 years of production engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience with horizontal well production in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated work experience in the areas of artificial lift, production, workover operations and project economics
  • Prefer experience utilizing production industry engineering software packages such as: Generwell, Well View, ProdView, Rod Star, and Nodal analysis
  • Proficiency with PC based programs, specifically Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) and Spotfire
