CAD/AVL Installation Project Manager

Description

CAD/AVL Installer Project Manager will be directly responsible for oversight and management of the full life cycle of all CAD/AVL installation contracts. The PM will assist the CAD/AVL Installation Lead with defining the process and procedures for the equipment installation, monitors and manage the schedule, installers, and quality review of the installation.

Essential Functions and responsibilities

  • Staff Management – Overall responsible for leading the CAD/AVL Group under the direction of the Senior Vice President. Provide oversight and direction of CAD/AVL contracts to support the lead installer with activities such as kitting, installation and repairs, maintenance, meeting time schedules and productivity levels, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Provide Leadership and Direction to CAD/AVL Installation Leads to include the following activities:
    • System Installation and Maintenance Administration – Provide leadership and direction to the installation teams to ensure installation contract requirements. Works with a team of Installers of CAD/AVL systems that maintains the service and support of vehicle communications and dependent systems such as radio, cellular, modems, camera, DVRs/NVRs, tablets, monitors, antennas, and other various wireless technology.
    • Kitting - Ensures that all equipment is appropriately received, organized ready for installers in timely and cost-effective manner. This also include inventory control ensuring all records including inventory and billing, are accurate and complete.
    • Customer Service – acts as central point-of-contact / escalation point for all installation related issues. Acts as the liaison between manufacturer, the owner, and contracted vendors, and acts as the technical subject matter expert in meetings, procurements and other related installation matters.
    • Training – Coordinates, schedules and trains technicians and owners’ staff on troubleshooting and solutions and use of the system. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with Federal, State, and Local regulations that affect CVT operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA standards, etc.
    • Scheduling – Maybe required to coordinate multiple installations simultaneously
 
Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent required.
  • May substitute education requirement with eight (8) years of equivalent training and work experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant technical support or client service experience with 3+ years of progressive levels of responsibility in leading or managing teams preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with 12/24-volt automotive electrical and electronic systems.
  • SCADA experience is a strong plus
  • Technical training of staff is a strong plus
  • Certifications (MECP, CET, or Low Voltage) are strong plus.

  • Supervisory and Leadership experience
  • Ability to manage multiple remote teams
  • Basic understanding of low voltage DC or vehicle electrical/electronic systems.
  • Basic cellular/wireless network proficiency.
  • Basic proficiency with computers, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Knowledge of serial data communications protocols
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle electronics installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
  • Intermediate understanding of vehicle electrical schematics.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools including, but not limited to the following: screwdriver, drill, volt/Ohm meter, saw, plyers, sockets, wrenches, wire strippers, wire crimpers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong listening skills.
  • Strong customer service skills; professional, courteous, friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to make decisions and problem-solve.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate initiative and commitment to optimizing systems and processes.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks and time effectively; flexibility is required.
