MedStar Radiology Network is currently seeking an experienced Business Office Specialist for a Full-Time position at their call center in Bel Air, MD. The Business Office Specialist is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, registration, record requests, insurance verification, and pre-authorization for radiology services. Business Office Specialists have a strong ability to multi-task, are technically savvy, service-oriented, communicate effectively and consistently display a professional demeanor. The ideal candidate will deliver an exceptional experience to patients, customers and physicians who contact MedStar Radiology Network.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Warmly greet patients as they enter MedStar Radiology Network with both eye contact and a smile; this includes family members/others accompanying the patient to the Imaging Center.
Serve as a liaison between all customers, including patients, physicians, and imaging center staff.
Handle phone correspondence, scheduling of appointments, coordinate/assemble orders with daily schedules, and distribute to clinical peers.
Accurately perform registration, complete registration ensuring patient work flow is optimized.
Ensure optimal customer service to all patients, peers, etc., by maintaining a pleasant tone of voice in all situations, answering the phone as quickly as possible, answering all questions, portraying empathy at all times and by returning phone calls as quickly as possible.
Facilitate resolution of pre-authorization or referral issues for patients to ensure payment from the insurance company on the patient's behalf.
Qualifications:
1-3 years medical office scheduling, insurance and registration experience
Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
