Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time  
Compensation Starting pay rate is dependent on education and experience. The minimum possible is $17.00 per hour. The maximum possible is $23.00 per hour. Mileage reimbursement is 0.63 per mile.

Description

We are seeking a strong Child Development Specialist (CDS) to join our team!

Our Child Development Specialist (CDS) works with our Infant Development Program (IDP) to treat clients of the ages 0-3 years who are delayed in their developmental milestones such as Cognitive, Physical, Communication, Social Emotional and Adaptive Skills. A CDS works under a CDS Supervisor implementing the clients program and record clients progress every session. In addition, the CDS will implement ABA techniques to help decrease maladaptive behaviors.

Position Requirements

Education/Certification Required

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 12 units of Child Development Completed

Availability Required

  • Morning hours between 8am-2:30pm (IDP Clients)
  • Afternoon hours any time after 3pm (assist with clients in other departments)

Additional Requirements:

  • Live scan fingerprint clearance
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Valid car insurance
  • Good driving record
  • Reliable Vehicle
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Receptive to feedback
  • Work well in a team

Responsibilities

This job requires candidates to be able to perform duties that include the following:

  • Treat clients by using therapeutic and self-care activities designed to improve function and developmental milestones
  • Monitor a client’s activities to make sure they are performing them correctly and to offer encouragement
  • Contribute to meetings and case conferences to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care plans for clients
  • Document client’s weekly progress in appropriate records
  • Implement Parent Education with client parents in skills and techniques of the client’s treatment program
  • Provide appropriate individual therapy consistent with individual goals and objectives
  • Must be physically able to move around on the ground, jump and engage in floor time
  • Assist other departments (Adaptive Skills and Behavioral Health Treatment) caseload during the afternoon hours after 3pm
