Pay Rate $18.06/hr.  
Description

SUMMARY
Requisition and issue supplies, parts, and equipment for vehicle maintenance. Perform inventory control. Perform other related work as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected.
• Receive, store and issue materials, supplies, and equipment to the mechanics.
• Procure tools, materials, and parts for stock inventory.
• Maintain catalogs, manuals, and other supply information related to the operation.
• Perform clerical record keeping.
• Pick up parts when needed.
• Perform cycle counting of parts inventory.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assume additional responsibilities as required.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 
•    High school diploma or equivalent. 
•    Two years proven work experience as a parts clerk.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED 
•    Heavy truck experience preferred.
•    Knowledge of basic inventory practice.
•    Ability to lookup automotive parts electronically.
•    Basic knowledge of purchasing and receiving procedures.
•    Maintain accurate records of transactions, inventory on hand and stock level. 
•    Experience with Microsoft Office.
•    Experience with Naviline Systems.
•    Ability to safely operate a fork lift.
•    Ability to communicate professionally with others, including union and management personnel. 

EQUIPMENT 
•    Computer, fork lift, related tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Employee will perform work in a shop environment. Employee must be able to lift 50-75 pounds. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 
Work is performed in a shop environment with moderate inside temperatures, and may be performed outside as well.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the office. Entire office and all City vehicles are smoke-free.
