Share Email Opening Title Plant Foreman  Category Manufacturing   Description Supervises and coordinates the plant's processes and production output through the direction of plant hourly personnel. Responsible for the efficient use of materials in the production process and the utilization of plant personnel by job assignment. Maintains a consistent and equitable application of Company Policies and Procedures. Essential Job Functions Functions as a first line supervisor and fills in for the Plant Manager when he/she is unavailable or offsite. Directs and is responsible for the training of new employees in production or delivery. Sets the standard for product quality and Cemetery Setups and directs staff to obtain these standards Follows Wilbert company procedures, policies and insures the same practices are performed by other company personnel in the same manner. Manages production schedules to determine daily production requirements making adjustments as necessary to meet sales, transfers & inventory needs. Maintains a sufficient level of raw materials and supplies to meet production requirements. Recommends & Implements methods to: improve production, optimize equipment life/performance, optimize product quality and minimize overall expense. Understand and use Lean Manufacturing methods to improve work flow and productivity. Completes route sheets; dispatches and directs the work of the Delivery Drivers; staggers start times and routing to minimize Delivery Overtime and initiates the plant work schedule providing the equitable distribution of time off and scheduled overtime Maintains an awareness of the condition of all Delivery trucks and equipment. Manages the maintenance and determines the polishing/maintenance schedule of all cemetery setup/delivery equipment. Directs and is responsible for the training of new employees in production or delivery. Sets the standard for product quality and Cemetery Setups and directs staff to obtain these standards. Coordinate casket preparation; delivery and paperwork to facilitate billing. Complete Earned hour worksheet weekly. Complies with all State and/or Federal regulations. Specifically complying with DOT, Wage & Hour Laws, OSHA, and all applicable environmental laws. Maintains a clean work environment.   Position Requirements Qualifications Associates Degree preferred or 5 years of supervisory experience in concrete manufacturing Familiar with modern manufacturing methods and recognize where they may be most effective. Ability to maintain control of a fast paces, multiple project environment Excellent people skills Ability to communicate and influence members of the workforce to produce desired results.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Understanding of manufacturing process Through knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles Ability to coach and train employees and issue safety/performance related corrective actions Ability to schedule assigned labor based on production requirements and handle multiple tasks effectively Understand inventor control practices Knowledge of OSHA standards Intermediate MS Word, Excel and Power Point skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong leadership skills   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Position Plant Foreman   Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt   Open Date 3/4/2019   Location Wichita- 204   About the Organization Wilbert Funeral Services Inc. is a concrete manufacturer and service provider to the funeral service, building trades and agricultural market places.
