Description

The Greater Naples YMCA seeks experienced professionals to fill early childhood teaching positions inthe Early Learning Center.The successful candidates will become part of a team providing children with a safe, healthy, nurturing, stimulating and developmentally-appropriate environment. The candidate must be a self-starter with an impeccable work ethic, a high level of professionalism, a nurturing personality and good judgment.

  • Develops weekly plans and implements age appropriate curriculum (lesson plan) to nurture and stimulate all domains of childrens development.
  • Develops on-going developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the childrens learning and growth.
  • Perform on-going developmental evaluations of children as required and follow curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each child.
  • On an on-going basis, plan, evaluate and improve the physical environment in the classroom to create opportunities to meet the changing needs of the developing child.
  • Conducts parent conferences, and maintains positive relationships and effective communication
  • with parents. Provide a classroom environment that encourages parent participation.
  • Maintains program site and equipment.
  • Maintains required program records.
  • Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements for all teachers:

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) required
  • Associates (2 year) degree required, preferebly in education-related field; Bachelor’s degree in education-related field preferred
  • At least 18 years of age
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
  • Ability to lift and tend to children 0-5 years, stoop and bend to child’s level, and squat to floor level
