Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. In this position you will have the opportunity to leverage your strengths and skills to engage our social audiences with content and tools that increase our brand awareness, and encourage brand and product loyalty.

Through daily interaction with our branded channels, the Social Engagement Associate will serve as our community manager, engaging readers in conversations and activities to help them make informed decisions about their health, finances and more.

 

Are you up to the challenge?

We’re looking for someone who is highly creative, analytical and nimble with a growth mindset to:

  • Develop and implement social media engagement activities for all U.S. News verticals: Education, Health, Money, News, Careers, Cars, Travel, Insurance, Real Estate and 360 Reviews.

  • Distribute content across multiple platforms – including, but not limited to, Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube – designed to build audience engagement as well as leverage the platforms to drive qualified audience acquisition.

  • Stay abreast of the latest social media technologies and tools and identify areas for growth.

  • Conduct regular competitive analysis and keep track of competitors’ social media editorial strategy and engagement.

  • Support research projects and create materials to help internal teams better understand audience engagement.

 
Position Requirements

Duties include:

  • Develop and post company-wide success stories

  • Promote new hires, promotions and speaking engagements

  • Host consumer-focused conversations with editors on FB and IG Live/Reels

  • Create welcome graphics for new hires using pre-established templates

  • Create testimonies from brand ambassadors using pre-established templates

  • Work with Communications team to identify and engage social influencers in each vertical industry

  • Developing and activating influencer partnerships

  • Video filming and editing

  • Respond to social comments when appropriate

  • Create social posts/stories for USN experts as needed

  • Research and develop engaging calls to action for each platform

  • Work in partnership with PR to identify USN brand experts for each vertical

  • Conduct audit of social engagement features and work with social team to incorporate new features

  • Develop launch engagement tactics

  • Assist as needed with event planning and engagement

 

You should definitely have:

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience

  • Ability to identify insights from large data sets

  • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced digital environment

  • Interest in digital media trends and emerging platforms

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Video editing skills

  • Strong emotional intelligence

  • Passion for all things social and be an avid consumer of media!

 

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience with multiple social media platforms, including Sprout Social

  • Data analysis experience

  • The anticipated base salary for this position is $52,000 to $60,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
