The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state. Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.   Description Direct Support Professional - Community Based. Client Initials:  CE Location:  Catawba County Starting Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour-$20.00 per hour depending on service provided ($16.00 per hour for Backup/PRN positions) Schedule of Hours: Monday - Friday--5:30 pm - 8:30 pm 15 hours per week The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to the provision of overall support and care for individuals receiving services from Skill Creations, Inc. Those that Skill Creations Inc. Serves in this capacity are individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and secondary mental health/substance abuse issues. The DSP works in the individual’s home and/or in a community setting, providing one-to-one or group care according to the specific needs of the individuals and their plan(s) of care. The Direct Support Professional may assist with personal care, behavioral support, medication administration, job coaching and assistance and/or independent living skills. The Direct Support Professional also provides educational opportunities in the areas of communication and recreation/leisure. Starting pay is $16.00-$20.00 per hour for Full and Part time DSP positions depending on service provided ($16.00 per hour for all back up/PRN positions). **Full-Time staff members (30+ scheduled hours per week) are offered a competitive benefits package that includes Health, Dental and Life Insurance, holiday pay, paid time off and 401K. ***Please note: While resumes are accepted, the online application must be completed before a candidate will be considered for any open positions. Requirements: High School diploma or GED from an accredited school Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays. Valid Driver’s license and acceptable Driving Record Criminal Record Check Successful completion of course work will be required in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management. Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data. Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling. The position requires the employee to be on his or her feet most of the time.
