Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.   Description Direct Support Professional - Community/Client Home Based Services PART TIME, FULL TIME, AND BACKUP POSITIONS AVAILABLE Want to make a difference in the lives of others?  Become a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with Skill Creations, Inc., a nonprofit agency helping people with disabilities meet their personal goals.   Pay Rate: $16-$20/hr depending on services provided. Location: Buncombe County Description:  The DSP is responsible for various duties related to overall support and care for individuals receiving services. We serve individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and secondary mental health needs. The DSP works in the individual’s home and/or in a community setting, providing care according to the specific needs and goals of the individuals. This care may include: personal care behavioral support medication administration job coaching and assistance community engagement independent living skills opportunities for communication and recreation/leisure transport/accompaniment to day services or appointments   Location:  Asheville area Hours: Part time, full time, floater, and overnight hours available. Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management. Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules, and data recording. Ability to remain on one’s feet most of the time.  Ability to lift 50 pounds, and to occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel.  Prompt and regular attendance. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays.
