We are looking for a tenured Controller to join our team in Cleveland! As the Controller, primary responsibilities will be managing and directing the corporation’s financial affairs to include financial reporting, tax compliance, cost accounting and business planning.  (This candidate will be required to work in person).

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage all aspects of entering financial information into the accounting system.
  • Remotely deposit cash receipts on a daily basis.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts on a daily basis.
  • Reconcile all credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Exercise independent judgement over accounts payable process including determining available cash to pay bills and process payments to vendors.
  • Perform monthly close tasks as assigned by the CFO.
  • Maintain all corporate policies relating to accounting matters.
  • Collect and analyze corporate financial data to provide management with internal reports.
  • Provide special reporting and analysis of financial information to management.
  • Manage accounting and administrative staff that reports directly to the CFO which includes providing specific job duties and direction, monitoring performance of job duties and providing evaluations.
  • Provide back up support to the Payroll Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the CFO.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Controller. 
  • 10+ years experience in accounting or related profession preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge in A/P and A/R
  • Experience and knowledge of payroll practices and laws
  • Cash management and budget experience
  • G/L reconcilliation and auditing
  • Small business experience referred.

  • Extremely well organized
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Word.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in an inside office environment with average office noise levels. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a largely sedentary role. The ability to lift files, stand, bend, stoop, and walk is required. Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor, and phone. Requires ability to communicate verbally and electronically with others.
