The nurse will be part of a collegial team of 6 doctors and 3 nurse practitioners to adult cardiac patients. Responsibilities Include: Heart failure evaluation and patient education Blood pressure evaluation and patient education Patient education regarding medications, invasive and non-invasive procedures. Perform intravenous lines Assist in processing paperwork in support of physician functions Assist with patient medical and emergency phone calls Administer and record staff vaccinations Maintain medication inventory   Category Nursing   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Location Heart Associates of Long Island - Cardiology   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Position Requirements Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State BCLS required. ACLS preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in a hospital or physician practice is preferred. Physical Demands: May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients or objects may involve lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.   Shift Days   Tags M-F 7am-3pm.
