Job Summary: The Athletic Director oversees all aspects of the athletic program within BGCSM. They are responsible for the development, administration, and promotion of a comprehensive and competitive athletic program that aligns with the organization's mission, values, and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management:
Develop and implement strategic plans for the athletic program, including goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
Coordinate and schedule athletic events, practices, and facilities usage.
Ensure compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, and policies governing athletic programs, including those set by the governing athletic associations.
Staff Management:
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise coaches, athletic trainers, and other staff members.
Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities to staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues in a timely manner.
Student-Athlete Support:
Promote academic success among student-athletes by providing resources, support services, and academic advising.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that prioritizes sportsmanship, integrity, and respect.
Monitor student-athlete eligibility and ensure compliance with academic and eligibility requirements.
Budget and Resource Management:
Develop and manage the athletic department budget, including revenue generation, expenditure forecasting, and fiscal oversight.
Seek out and secure funding opportunities, sponsorships, and donations to support the athletic program.
Manage athletic equipment, facilities, and other resources efficiently and effectively.
Community Engagement:
Cultivate positive relationships with parents, alumni, donors, and community stakeholders to garner support for the athletic program.
Coordinate community outreach initiatives, events, and partnerships to enhance the visibility and impact of the athletic program.
Serve as a liaison between the athletic department and external organizations, agencies, and governing bodies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Previous experience in athletic administration, coaching, or related field.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of athletic program management, NCAA rules and regulations (if applicable), and relevant legal and ethical considerations.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable athletic environment for all student-athletes.
Salary $52,000
