POSITION SUMMARY

Assists the designers, engineers, Managers of the department to design, develop and improve new or exsiting products and determine manufacturing for those products. 

Here is what you will do...

  • Serves as a positive role model consistent with Polo's corporate culture at all times.
  • Analysis various designs requirement and recommends possible solutions or alternate constructions
  • Provides information when required for cost estimating and to Technical Coordinators for illustrations required for sales aids.
  • Construct prototypes per the Designers insrtuctions to meet customer and internal requirements
  • Gather new material, shop-aids, tooling and attachments necessary to build protoypes
  • Help set up protoypes per the Designers instructions to meet customer and internal requirements
  • Assist the Designer by communicating with production personnel regarding ideas, drawings and products in the development of designs to resolve problems and to provide protypes on schedule .
  • Work with Designer to communicate important product information needed to quote the manufacturing cost .
  • Work with the Designer and the Technical Coordinator to provide all essential inofrmation necessary to create a production master..
  • Investigate and find solutions to problems 
  • Assist the Designers in patternmaking and cutting parts per their specifications.
  • Document filing as required
  • Maintain a good attenendace record according to company policy
  • Attending departmental meetings as well as meetings assigned by management.
  • Must be a strong team player and interact with others.
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Here is what you'll need to qualify...

  • Education: Textile Design
  • Experience: Industrial/home sewing experience or educational equivalent.
  • Sewing experience beyond college courses, Industrial sewing preferred.

  • Textile/soft goods design and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Practicle experience using computer design software for pattern making.
  • Proactive.
  • Highly organized.and detail oriented
  • Strong team player who interacts well with others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed and posses the ability to see a project throught to production
