We are looking to add an Area Manager to join our Team! The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial cleaning, management, have a track record of excellent customer service. This position is responsible for the operation and profitability of their accounts. This position is also responsible for coordinating operations and ensuring schedules and objectives are met all while maintaining quality relations with existing accounts.

What You Will Do

  • Develop members of their team to support company initiatives. This includes working primarily the same shift as the majority of direct reports.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent customer relations through daily contact and site visits at assigned accounts, taking all actions necessary to ensure completion and quality of required scope of work.
  • Performs quality assurance inspections of assigned accounts and acts appropriately based on results to ensure all work has been completed in compliance with specific scope of work.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to human resources regarding current staffing and future staffing needs. Actively participates in recruiting process with recruiters and leadership staff.
  • Communicates regularly with staff in a professional and responsive way to discuss performance and development goals.
  • Ensures all associates are properly trained at assigned accounts with a focus on long term retention.
  • Maintains a safe work environment for self and employees by enforcing the company’s safety, recognition and training programs.
  • Handles administrative duties of assigned account to include, but not limited to: Documentation of employee performance and safety, and maintaining inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Understands supply budgets and labor costs of assigned accounts and operates effectively within established budget guidelines.
  • Executes company core values and ensures compliance with company policies and processes.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

This position directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial cleaning.
  • 2+ years of experience in operations management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong commitment to high-level service and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, develop, and lead teams.
  • Willingness to work a variable schedule to include day, evening, and night shifts.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver's license

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates within multiple work environments including office, manufacturing, schools, medical facilities, etc. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The ability to lift files, stand, bend, stoop, and walk is required. Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor, and phone. Requires ability to communicate verbally with others.

This position requires individuals to be able to drive up to 90 minutes one-way. When offsite, this role requires extensive walking indoors and some outdoors.

This role is not sedentary and those in it must have the ability to stand for 70% of an average week. Walking, bending, twisting, climbing, turning of head and torso, crawling, reaching, flexing the arms and legs, and stooping as necessary. Lifting and carrying weights up to 50 pounds to include wearing of backpack vacuum for extended periods.
