Position Overview:
Candidates must be available Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm, a minimum of 5 weeks 10-week summer (Late June – August) for summer camps.
Instructs and supervises a variety of sport-, activity-, or learning-related youth programs.
Pay Range: $19 - $19/hr
Essential Functions:
Work under the direction of the Recreation Director and Youth Programs Manager to ensure the camp vision and essential functions are being met.
Responsible for a group of 15-20 children daily, accompanying them during all events and activities. Following a 1:8 or 1:4 ratio based on camp age guidelines.
Planning, organizing, and executing, weekly camp schedule.
Follows daily instructional schedules, taking into consideration the activity, age, and ability of participants.
Conducts activities or provides instruction and coordination of activities as appropriate.
Monitors and maintains appropriate equipment.
Maintains communication with the Recreation Director regarding progress and problems involved with the various activities involved in the Camp.
Setting a good example for campers and other instructors in all areas including cleanliness, punctuality, rules, and sportsmanship.
Maintaining attendance and authorized pick-up forms for all campers.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs similar, job-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not include supervisory duties.
Requirements:
Mandatory attendance to the Staff Training on Friday 6/21/2024
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Prior experience working with children 3 years or older- in a camp, teaching or coaching.
CPR and First Aid certification- Provided through Bellevue Club if needed.
Safe Sport Certified- Provided through Bellevue Club.
Excellent knowledge of a variety of activities, as well as the ability to effectively convey this information to others.
Ability to swim/comfortable in shallow water pool.

Week 4: July 15th -19th
Week 5: July 22nd -26th
Week 6: July 29th -Aug. 2nd
Week 7: Aug. 5th -9th
Week 8: Aug. 12th -16th
Week 9: Aug.19th 23rd
Week 10: Aug 26th -30th

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
