Description

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Coordinator will join a fast-paced sales and marketing communications team that supports a growing business unit. This individual should be able to demonstrate leadership qualities, initiative, proactiveness, and possess a drive for collaborative teamwork. This individual will add significant bandwidth and value to support the efforts of our Sales, Marketing, and Business Development Teams. An ideal candidate will understand how to pursue business related to horticultural end-users, distribution, and component sales to soil and fertilizer blenders. Needs to be proficient working with database information, CRM systems, and be able to package and distribute that information for utilization across business teams. This is a remote position. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Sales Support and Order Coordination

  • Support effort of outside sales team and sales leadership
  • Conduct proactive outbound calls to existing accounts to ensure rebooking of prior year business – secure purchase orders and update requested delivery dates.
  • Support and assist outside sales reps in determining 90-day forecast from customers and if sales will be more or less than prior year and by what amount and %
  • Communicate any changes to customers forecasts to sales reps and update Ops on SIOP calls.
  • Partner with logistics and customer service department to ensure QOTIF (Quality ON-Time In-Full) for customer orders – reduce field reps’ time dealing with order fulfillment.
  • Provide accurate customer forecast to SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operational Planning) team by volume, sku, and dates.
  • Support product managers with communicating pricing and availability issues to field and customers.

 

Prospecting & Lead Qualification

  • Identify key prospects and sales opportunities and qualify leads before routing them to the sales team.
  • Conduct outbound calls to accounts on prospect lists to qualify accounts for product type and potential volumes.
  • Funnel all smaller leads/opportunities to Distribution Manager and associated distribution reps in various territories.
  • Assist marketing to build collateral to target prospects and leads.
  • Follow up calls, e-mails, and mailings to qualified leads.

Sales Outreach and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Update Dynamics CRM system with new opportunities and manage sales process stage.
  • Manage pipeline status and confidence factor for outside sales reps and their key opportunities.
  • Manage Power BI reports and ensure sales reps have necessary, current, and accurate reports.
  • Execute regular communication including phone, e-mail, and mailings to customers and end users with product and promotion updates.
  • Travel to trade shows and other events and make PowerPoint presentations to customers and end users.

Sales & Marketing Administrative Support

  • Onboarding and initial customer setup of new accounts
  • Conduct industry research and generate summary reports on key market opportunities as needed.
  • Update Dynamics CRM software including dashboards, contacts, accounts, leads, and sales opportunities.

Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or Communications
  • 2-4 years of experience in an inside sales, marketing, or communications position. * Experience with horticulture a plus.
  • Experienced in customer relationship management software (Salesforce, Dynamics CRM) and Microsoft Office, Power BI

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office suite of applications
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and any programming experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Power BI are exceedingly valuable
  • Some travel required to trade shows, distributor meetings, field demos, and internal Company national sales meetings

 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • May require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • The individual possesses fine hand manipulation (keyboarding) skills.
