Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Residence Manager  Post Internal Days 0   Category Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC)   Description CATHOLIC GUARDIAN SERVICES POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Residence Manager Unaccompanied Children Services Program DEPARTMENT: Family Support Services REPORTS TO: Assistant Program Director CGS’s Unaccompanied Children Services Program serves children/youth presenting a range of challenging behaviors, especially those related to symptoms of trauma. The Program’s services are provided by bilingual (Spanish/English) staff who receives specialized training in the special needs of refugee children The program provides a safe, therapeutic environment in a family-like setting that addresses the requirements of each child/youth in a manner that is sensitive to his or her age; preserves cultural, ethnic and religious heritage; and meets dietary needs, native language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other critical individual needs. BASIC FUNCTION: The Residence Manager supervises the Lead Youth Care Workers, Cooks and transportation workers The Residence Manager will assure that there are current staff schedules available, menus are completed and followed and maintains the transportation workers schedule. It is his or her responsibility to reflect and enforce positive values through encouragement of appropriate standards of behavior DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Provides a warm, homelike atmosphere by establishing an individual relationship with each child focusing on that child’s positive growth and development. ? Monitors staff to ensure each child’s physical well being, ensuring suitable clothing, adequate food and all required medical treatments, including the dispensing of medication. ? Maintains a hazard free, clean and orderly household by promptly reporting maintenance problems to the supervisory staff and by completion of assigned household chores in a timely and efficient manner.  Assures assigned staff takes inventory of resident belongings upon admission  Assures assigned staff maintain the supervision of adolescent’s care and maintenance of personal belongings, and care of home  Participates in all mandated and recommended staff trainings.  Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of persons and population served  Responsible to approve staff schedules as well as monitor use of OT.  Reviews and monitors the menus and places food order  Assigns and maintains the schedule for transportation workers  The essential functions for the job include, but are not limited to, the duties in the job description REQUIREMENTS: Interest in working with adolescents HS Diploma or GED required, Associates or Bachlors preferred.  5 years of supervisory experience including experience managing residential staff.
