Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. In this position, you will have the opportunity to leverage your web production and journalistic skills to produce content for the U.S. News Autos website. You will join our reviews team, collaborating with writers, editors and research analysts on the creation of consumer-oriented reviews and information for usnews.com/cars.

The Digital Producer’s primary responsibilities bring our automotive reviews to life. This candidate will focus on publishing consumer-oriented content for our car rankings and reviews, as well as car shopping advice. This is an essential role with responsibilities that include fact checking, uploading content and finding photos. As a digital producer at Autos, you will also become the subject matter expert on our content management system, recommending feature and sitewide improvements and sharing your knowledge with other members of the team.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Publish consumer-oriented content and car shopping advice backed by car rankings and reviews
  • Fact check, upload editorial content, tables, charts, graphics and photos to the CMS
  • Fact check incoming content from our team of freelance writers
  • QA and publish new and existing web pages
  • Source graphics and photos with appropriate licenses
  • Recommend and test features and improvements for our content management system
 
Position Requirements

You should definitely have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in english, journalism or a related field
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress
  • Basic image editing skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments

It would be nice if you had:

  • Familiarity with the Brightspot content management system
  • A basic understanding of HTML and Photoshop
  • An interest in cars and helping consumers choose the right vehicle for them

  • In New York City, the anticipated base salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
