Your role in helping us shape the future:

Hone your journalism skills in one of the hottest current topics, education, at one of the nation’s leading news organizations that reaches more than 40 million people each month. U.S. News & World Report is seeking a motivated intern to join our Consumer Advice Education team for 10 weeks this summer. You’ll be part of a fun, creative, and talented team with abundant opportunities to contribute and grow personally and professionally.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Possibly write occasional advice-focused articles on higher education topics, including some updates of older content.
  • Assist with lightly editing, fact-checking, and proofreading education blog posts.
  • Participate in idea brainstorming and provide researched feedback on potential topics.
  • Possible opportunities to make TikTok videos for social media promotion.
 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Eligible candidates must be one of the following:

  • Part-time or full-time students who have completed 24+ credit hours (rising sophomores/juniors/seniors) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
  • Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
  • May 2024-2025 graduate (Summer Interns Only)
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism and maturity in the workplace
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite and Google Docs
  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred

 

Preferred Qualifications:

1.  Interest in search engine optimization.

 

2. Desire to learn Google Analytics and creating insightful reports.

 

3. Ideas for how to reach people beyond your website.

 

Summer Intern Program Description:

  • 10 weeks; ideally, starting on Monday, June 3 through Friday, August 9, 2024

 

  • We expect interns to work 37.5 hours/week, Monday- Friday

 

  • Internship pays $17.10 hr.
