Come Join Our Team!   Description COLTENE has an immediate opening for an experienced Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician's purpose is to safely repair, maintain and install equipment throughout the manufacturing plant. As a member of the maintenance team, the Support Technician works together, ensuring day to day production and reliability with the Coltène Facility & Equipment. The schedule for this role is as follows: Monday-Friday, 10am-6.30pm plus OT if necessary. Duties and Responsibilities Repair equipment safely, with as sense of urgency, as break downs occur Perform Preventative Maintenance according to system schedules Provide technical assistance for new equipment purchases and production floor modifications Execute and promote safety and risk assessment with all tasks Assemble required documentation to transfer new product designs to production. Perform & troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, mechanical and general repairs Assist in facility additions & renovations Understand that Maintenance Technician position is on call in the event of a production schedule emergency. Qualifications The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability needed in order to successfully perform the job. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Preferred to have Specialized Training/Schooling in Trades or Mechanical Institution 10 years' experience with electrical and NEC codes in a manufacturing environment. 10 years' with mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment Appropriate combination of education and experience may also be acceptable Proficiency in equipment troubleshooting An aptitude for trade skills in conjunction to facilities and equipment is essential for providing day to day reliability in regards to production All of duties and responsibilities MUST be done with a commitment and understanding of company safety policies such as LOTO, elevated work, PPE and general work place safety including Arc Flash Proficient and competent with technical tools, instructions, schematics, and drawings Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook) Basic shop math at a minimum Ability to problem solve and analyze Technical capacity including decision making, communication (both verbal and written) and reporting effectively internally and externally Timely and effective responses to common inquires Works under general supervision with the expectation of a wide range of creativity and latitude Reasoning Ability & Expectations Individual must be able to communicate and perform proper situational assessments with equipment and facility. Working as a team to minimize risk and resume safe production involves reasoning to the proper assessment. Coltene's expectation for the Maintenance Technician position is that the individual must be able to grow with the company. As technology and electrical/mechanical systems advance, the Maintenance Technician must be able to attend training and potentially travel to have an optimal understanding of achieving equipment and facility repair needs. Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in both an office and plant environment. While in the plant, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. This is a full-time position requiring at least 40 hours per week, with hours of work and days scheduled determined by the EHS - Facility Manager. Special circumstances such as off shift and weekend work might occur on rare occasions. It's possible that the shift for this position may change in the future. This position requires minimal travel. Physical and non-physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee spends time sitting at a desk, however the employee is frequently required to stand for periods of time and work out in the manufacturing area on projects. Prolonged periods of concentration and focus are required along with adequate interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with stress of time constraints. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires regular and consistent attendance at the facility.
