Business Development Coordinator

 

NARFE is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Coordinator in the Business Development dept. to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to the business development department, assist in coordinating BD activities, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following:

  • Provide administrative support to the business development department, including managing and handling correspondence under the direction of the BD Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, such as outreach efforts and partnership opportunities along w/preparing materials for presentations and maintaining contact databases.
  • Coordinate the monthly invoicing process for print and digital advertisers in the Association Management System (AMS).
  • Coordinate monthly reporting process for donations received through online fundraising platforms and maintain accurate reporting metrics (promo codes, member identification number, etc.).
  • Effectively communicate with corporate sponsors about deadlines, deliverables, etc. & manage follow-up processes with internal depts. as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support business development initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate Member Silver Circle mailings and provide list of new Silver Circle donors to Communications and Marketing to add to the Silver Circle Donors recognition page on NARFE.org website.Assist with developing the 2024 Federation Conference and Meeting Schedule for Business Development in Excel.
  • Respond to inquiries from members/sponsors with questions regarding NARFE Perks programs, fundraising programs, or other administrative request.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a business development or sales environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with Association Management System (AMS) is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of business development processes and best practices is desirable.

 

Work Environment: The organization is currently operating on a hybrid work schedule (In office 3 days & Remote 2 days/week). The headquarters office is conveniently located near Braddock Road metro station in Old Town Alexandria.

Salary Range: The starting rate is $48,000 - $55,000 annually. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
