CAD Technician
CAP Government, Inc. is seeking the immediate hire of a CAD Technician. This position requires knowledge in the specific area of drafting, e.g., civil drawings, roadway, stormwater, water/sewer disciplines with the ability to operate a computer-aided drafting (CAD) system. Work is performed under supervision and may be revised or spot-checked while in progress. Problems are resolved by a higher-level employee or the supervisor. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their area of expertise, and the ability to work with greater independence.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Qualifications
- Design of municipal public works projects, such as roadway projects, stormwater improvement projects, utility projects and site development. ·
- The work will generally encompass all aspects of civil engineering with a focus on water & sewer, drainage, roadways, and site work. ·
- Prepare construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D ·
- to appropriate CAD standards and best practices ·
- Evaluate and implement CAD specifications defined by clients ·
- Perform quantity take-offs Diagrams, schematics, layouts, multi-view, and various drawings to scale per clients' requests.
- File drawings, maintain catalogs of engineering data, and perform other routine drawing room functions as required.
- Customer Oriented
- Able to manage multiple tasks and provide assistance when needed to other team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
Education/Experience:
- Preferred to have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related engineering discipline, and four (4) years of practical engineering experience including two (2) years civil engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HydroCAD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, and other related hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Positive attitude, self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the potential/desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team
- Skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
