Position Description:

Faculty position with teaching responsibilities for a full range of Electrical Systems courses. Instructor will also participate in planning implementation, and evaluation of all courses taught within the area and contribute to ongoing improvement of program curriculums.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Teach lecture and laboratory portions of courses on campus and online.
  2. Prepare and distribute course syllabi to students.
  3. Perform all preparation requirements for laboratory exercises.
  4. Evaluate student progress through examinations, quizzes, observations and laboratory reports.
  5. Budget for and order supplies and equipment necessary for lecture and laboratory instruction.
  6. Maintain appropriate instructional laboratories and equipment.
  7. Be available for individual student assistance advising and/or consultation as required by the Faculty Master Agreement.
  8. Participate in college committee work and program advisory committee activities.
  9. Participate in curriculum development, revisions and evaluation activities.
  10. Maintain a high level of academic competency through staff development activities.
  11. Work with the college admissions office to recruit students for the program.
  12. Assist with job placement efforts for program students.
  13. Other duties as assigned by Department Chairperson and the Vice President of Instruction according to the terms of the Faculty Master Agreement.

Position Requirements

Position Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree required with at least 18 credit hours in electrical studies. Classes to meet this requirement may be completed after starting position.
  2. Work experience in the electric power industry preferred.
  3. Strong working knowledge of electrical power systems required.
  4. Teaching experience in a higher education setting including online teaching preferred.
  5. Computer competency in word processing, instructional software and online instruction preferred.
  6. Curriculum development, especially online curriculum development, preferred.
