Description

Summary:

Under guidance of the Head Coach, the Assistant Water Polo Coach is responsible for teaching the introductory skills of water polo and swimming to boys and girls ages 8-14, assisting with coordination of workouts for the Water Polo Team, and coordinating set up and tear down from practices.

General Responsibilities:

  • Teaching basic water polo and swimming skills
  • Manage an attendance sheet and take notes on athletes, as needed
  • Work with other coaches to implement practice plans and drills
  • Provide supervisor with feedback and information on practices and individual athletes
  • Coach in a Sunday scrimmage once every 8 weeks (as needed)
 
Position Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic experience with water polo and swimming technique, and experience with youth programs or working with younger athletes is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed outdoors and may require involving potentially inclement weather conditions. Position requires regular contact with the public. Must be able to work under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and adhere to deadlines.

Physical Abilities:

Examples include:

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling light/medium objects
  • Standing for extended periods of time during workouts
  • Seeing to review and/or input information
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard

FLSA Status:

This classification is non-exempt from FLSA requirements.

Work Schedule:
Part-Time, weekends required

Anticipated Hourly Pay Range
$17.50-$18.25, DOE
