The Position

The Senior Wellness Promotion Program Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and oversight of the Wellness Promotion Program, which includes wellness activities on-site at identified properties as well as case management office hours available to residents at identified properties. The Program Supervisor’s duties include coordination of staff and project partners for successful implementation of the services; interfacing with partner agency property owners and on-site managers, overseeing project quality controls; overseeing project budget; ensuring contractual targets are met; and completion of qualitative and quantitative reports reflecting services rendered. Duties also include direct service to residents at properties during on-site wellness activities and/or case management office hours. This position works in a variety of off-site and on-site settings. This position reports to the Senior Services Program Director.

This position can be based out of any of FSA’s offices in Santa Maria, Lompoc, or Santa Barbara. Some travel within SB County may be required.

Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates program staff.
  2. Recruits, trains, and oversees any volunteers needed to execute program activities.
  3. Implements and manages the Senior Wellness Promotion program.
  4. Provides case management services and oversees administration of on-site wellness promotion activities at independent living senior properties.
    • Work collaboratively with older adults living in identified properties to provide services, including case management, advocacy, and linkages to community resources to equip older adults with the skills and knowledge needed to overcome challenges, stabilize and promote engagement in site-based activities.
    • Plan, promote, schedule, and conduct programs and activities tailored to the needs and interests of the housing property residents.
    • Evaluate activities to determine appropriateness and interest level of participants, and make changes as needed.
    • Actively encourage resident participation in the activities, scheduled speakers and engagement activities. Document resident attendance at activities.
    • Utilize assessment skills and screening tools to identify risks and strengths, and determine assistance needed. Utilize CSQ-8 satisfaction survey to measure satisfaction with the services, and a second evidence-based assessment tool (pre-post) will be identified to measure life satisfaction. In addition, some of the activities conducted may be evidence-based, such as a mindfulness wellness group.
    • Exhibit a working knowledge of community resources and provide appropriate referrals/linkages to support access to social, educational, and health services.
    • Ensure client records and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and confidential.
    • Utilize databases to monitor and reflect program contacts, activities, and outcomes.
  5. Interface with county-wide partners and other funders for successful project implementation.
  6. Oversee quality controls for project, including monitoring project outcomes, evaluating project effectiveness and staying current with research in the field.
  7. Ensure contractual expectations and program targets are met and that services provided are within scope of practice.
  8. Supervise collection of service and evaluation data and prepare written reports.
  9. Maintain oversight of expenditures to ensure project related costs are within the outlined budget. 
 
Position Requirements

Employment Requirements:

  1. BA required; MA preferred in social work, gerontology, sociology, public administration, business, psychology or related field.
  2. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  3. Exhibit cultural competency.
  4. Experience in program management, staff supervision, budget operations and oversight, data tracking and analysis.
  5. Familiarity with community resources and knowledge of gerontology preferred.
  6. Computer and Internet literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office; can adapt to using various types of software.
  8. Background check, TB, and drug screen clearance required.
  9. Valid automobile insurance and a valid California Driver License are required.
  10. Physical tasks, such as moving tables/chairs, lifting boxes up to 15 lbs., etc. will be required.
  11. Reliable transportation is necessary to travel throughout Santa Barbara County.

Classification, Hours, and Pay Rate:

  • This position is full-time, exempt, with benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave also offered.
  • Pay range is $79,040-$83,200.
  • This position can be based out of any of FSA’s offices in Santa Maria, Lompoc, or Santa Barbara. Some travel within SB County may be required.
