The Position

Family Service Agency’s Youth and Behavioral Health (YFBH) team is expanding! YFBH is contracted with various community partners to provide therapeutic services to children and adults. The Clinic Therapist provides therapeutic services to clients with a variety of conditions. Services are provided in a clinic setting, via telehealth, or in the community M-F between 8:30am-7:00pm. This position reports to and is supervised by the YFBH Porgram Manager.

Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and/or couples and/or family therapy using evidence-based treatment modalities and other promising practices known to be effective with populations served. Some payers require clinicians to facilitate brief therapy that is solution-focused.
  • Conduct clinical assessments evaluating the current status of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health and considering relevant cultural issues and concerns.
  • Compose treatment plans informed by clinical assessments.
  • Document all clinical and service activities promptly after providing service, providing information needed for billing purposes.
  • Engage in case management activities, utilizing forms/documents required by payers.
  • Foster positive interagency relationships and provide referrals for any indicated outside resources.
  • Maintain all cases according to industry standards, including the appropriateness of service and quality of care.
  • Pre-licensed staff must meet weekly for group supervision. Additional supervision may be offered as determined by the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Licensed staff must meet at least once a month for Clinical Consultation.
  • Check FSA email and voicemail every day worked.
  • Perform related duties as required and as directed by the YFBH Program Manager.
  • Maintain licensure/registration status and adhere to all legal and ethical standards of practice as established by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences.

 

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES COUNSELING: SPECIFIC DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the above, counselors providing services through FSA’s contract with SB County Department of Social Services will have the following duties, functions and responsibilities:

1. Include in clinical assessments clinical history related to parenting, abuse, neglect, and domestic violence, as well as appraisal of strengths and protective factors.

2. Develop treatment plans focused on strengthening family bonds, reducing conflict, improving communication, and ensuring safety.

3. Provide DSS caseworkers assigned to clients with monthly written summaries of client attendance and progress toward achievement of goals.

 
Position Requirements

Employment Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or a student current enrolled in master’s or doctoral-level clinical program at an accredited university is required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Excellent clinical, interpersonal, analytical, computer, written, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Professional attitude, enjoys teamwork, and ability to maintain confidentiality a must.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience preferred.
  • Valid CA driver license and proof of insurance required.

 

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:

  • This position is open to part-time or full-time, non-exempt, with limited  benefits including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave also offered; this benefit is prorated when accepting a part-time opportunity.
  • Pay is D.O.E and ranges from $28-30/hr
