Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. He works at a locally owned business, he stays active caring for his home and his dog; he walks, hikes, bikes and rollerblades, he loves music and good movies and good food. In this position there would be a minimum of 1 night per week you would stay overnight as well as other opportunities during the day ... Our Agency Starting Pay Rate :$14 /hr Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall support to individuals receiving services from Skill Creations, Inc. The individuals served are affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and secondary mental health/substance abuse issues. The DSP works in the individual’s home and/or in the community providing one-to-one or group care according to the specific needs of the individuals and their plan of care. Examples of the type of duties include assisting the individual with personal care, preparing meals/snacks and assisting with taking medications. The Direct Support Professional also provides training opportunities in the areas of communication, recreation/leisure skills and appropriate behaviors. For some assignments, the DSP transports/accompanies individuals to a day program site and other activities in the community. **Full-Time staff members are eligible for medical, dental, and life insurances, as well as Paid Time Fff and 401-K Retirement ***Please note: While resumes are accepted, the online application MUST be completed in full before a candidate will be considered for any open positions. Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays. In most positions, a valid driver's license and driving record that meets the agency's insurability standards is essential. Course work will be required in CPR/First Aid and behavior management. Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data. Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling. The position requires the employee to be on his or her feet most of the time.
