GENERAL SUMMARY: EHS Technologies is hiring a Facility Engineer Technician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division located at the Navy Yard. Candidates need prior experience with most building systems, but do not need to be an expert in any particular system. Should be familiar with electrical, structural, civil, mechanical, HVAC, and fire protection. Experience with construction/repair contracts, specifically, must be able to read and understand a contract, contract drawings, and contract specifications and be able to verify work is completed in accordance with the contract documents. Must be familiar with, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.s.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF FACILITY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN:
- Attending meetings
- Perform field investigations
- Document site conditions
- Field logistical coordination
- Daily site inspections
- General safety and quality assurance oversight
- Short range (2-3 week look ahead) scheduling
- Schedule reviews
- Submittal reviews
- Outage coordination
- Building access support
- Laydown coordination
- Site visit support
- Providing updates on project status to team members
- Coordinating construction work with building occupants
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Should be familiar with most building systems but doesn’t need to be an expert in any particular system. Individual should be familiar with electrical, structural, civil, mechanical, HVAC, and fire protection.
- Experience with construction/repair contracts. Specifically, the individual must be able to read and understand a contract, contract drawings, and contract specifications (as it pertains to their duties) and be able to verify work is completed in accordance with the contract documents.
- Familiar with Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
