Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Deputy Chief will lead all day to day operations to achieve program objectives and ensure successful completion of assigned tasks within established timelines and budgets. The DCBH will be responsible for planning, management, and oversight for all mental health operations and programs. The purpose of the job is to provide leadership, accountability, planning, and execution to deliver on operational initiatives, in-market affiliations, process improvements, service line extensions, and operational performance. The DCBH has an organizational down and in focus on behavioral health, clinical care standards, operations, risk management, and quality assurance procedures. This job requires knowledge of practice management processes, process improvement, project management, and gaining collaboration from matrix teams using influence to drive projects forward and minimize financial, clinical, and regulatory risk. The right candidate will possess business and clinical experience, executive presence, and collaborative leadership skills. Excellent communication and team leadership skills are critical to the success of the team and the position. The Deputy Chief must understand PTSD and issues related to members of the Military and their family members. This position will be a community spokesperson for Endeavors mental health services at a local, state, and national level.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct, manage, and oversee all program operations (e.g., operations support, staffing, measurement and evaluation, and financial management), including the tracking, reporting, and responding to the program’s Key Performance Indicators. Prepare and manage the Behavioral Health budgets. Evaluate and monitor resources and develop resource allocation plans across projects.
  • Accountable for management & communication of program deliverable statuses, issues & escalations, as well as, conducting proactive risk assessments & mitigation planning. Escalates to & advises executive team as required and anticipates cross-functional program gaps & drives resolution.
  • Assist, support and grant writing and funding opportunities with the Chief of Behavioral Health and Endeavors Development department. Collaboratively work with Directors within Behavioral Health to support operational implementation of new programs, grant requirements, and funder deliverables.
  • Creates and maintains synergy between all programs and ensures proper support infrastructure for execution and future growth
  • Supports the Behavioral Health Strategic plans
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical standards and compliance guidelines.
  • Organize work and resources outside partners as necessary to achieve clinical development and corporate goals.
  • Oversees all project management functions including key performance indicators, project dashboards, reporting, and communication to customers and support teams on status of projects and programs.
  • Represent Endeavors and the Clinics at conferences, meetings of service providers within the community, and liaising with other Veteran-service organizations at the local and national level to maintain partnerships and share work of the clinic.
  • Additional duties as required.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Preferred: At least a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in the Mental Health or related field.

EXPERIENCE: Preferred: 10-15 years of healthcare operations and clinical experience is preferred. Must have process improvement, project management, and budget management and reconciliation experience. Experiences with establishing and maintaining third party billing and credentialing programs. Experience working with a Military or Veteran population is strongly preferred. Must demonstrate leadership and communication capacity and ability to foster team-building and a supportive, flexible environment. At least five (5) years of experience with managerial/supervisory responsibilities.

LICENSES: Driver’s License with clear record required..

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations (30-40%) and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must be available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs. Willingness to work other duties as required. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.
