Description

We are seeking a Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI) for the for the 2023-2024 school year. The candidate will coordinate and facilitate the curriculum at SCA. This position will assist in maintaining a unified curriculum and make suggestions for ongoing improvements and enhancements to the curriculum and instruction at SCA. The DCI will be the school’s primary instructional leader, having a distinctive Christian educational philosophy, which maintains high educational standards. The DCI will provide academic leadership and support for all teachers K-12 in the areas of curriculum development/implementation and instructional effectiveness. The DCI will actively participate on the school leadership team and will report directly to the school administration.

Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching and/or administration experience. Experience in curriculum, supervision, and instructional methods. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Directs and coordinates teachers in developing school wide instructional goals, objectives, and assessment instruments. Assists with monitoring the implementation of teacher development and evaluation assessments.
  • Conduct teacher workshops, orientations, and a variety of staff development activities pertaining to researched-based best practices.
  • Confers with, counsels, and advises administration and teachers concerning instructional methods, techniques, and strategies.
  • Develop and implement an ongoing procedure and analysis for curriculum review, development, and/or revision.
  • Establish a line of open communication with staff and community regarding curriculum and instruction; including developing and disseminating information regarding the school’s instructional programs.
  • Actively participates with the school administration to implement the teacher evaluation system for assessment of certified school personnel.
  • Assist with the selection of textbooks and resource materials.
  • Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Conduct weekly observations of teacher’s classroom and provide informal and constructive feedback to the teacher within 24 hours.
  • Possess knowledge of the Arizona and other state standards, and a commitment to understanding researched based teaching strategies and data driven decisions.
  • Perform other duties assigned by school administration.

Requirements:

  • Understand the ministerial function of their role as described in the SCA Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Attain an ACSI 2-year Temporary certificate within the first two years of employment.
