Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Custodial Substitute  Category Sub/Temp   Description This position is responsible for keeping buildings and building entrances in a clean and orderly condition for the students and staff. This position fills in for the regular custodial staff on an on-call, as needed basis. Hours will be based on institutional need.   Position Requirements Position Qualifications:   Education Required – High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid drivers’ license required. Must be able to see and hear well (naturally or with correction). Ability to lift and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work off ladders or scaffolding Must be able to work skillfully with hands. Must be able to operate all custodial power equipment with 30 days of accepting position. Must be able to use the required cleaning agents in a safe and responsible manner. Position Responsibilities:   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax and buff floors and stairways.. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Clean and disinfect sinks, bathroom fixtures, trim and mirrors. Empty waste baskets. Clean chalk/white boards. Replenish supplies as needed, restrooms, etc. Clean drinking fountains Change light bulbs. Shovel snow. Exterminate insects. Arrange equipment and furniture for scheduled functions. Deliver messages. Generate supply requisition for assigned areas. Other duties as assigned. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
