JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Logistics will be responsible for developing the overall vehicle logistics strategy of finished vehicle importation and distribution. This role will lead negotiations with suppliers or internal customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability. The Director will lead the vehicle logistics team in collaboration with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Drive planning for adequate carrier capacity and storage space to keep pace with volume growth.
  • Direct the teams responsible for execution for delivery of services to the end customer.
  • Anticipate challenges and disruptions to transportation flow and design mitigation strategies.
  • Drive company compliance with logistics processes and global trade regulations.
  • Define scope and priorities of analytics team to measure all relevant aspects of outbound logistics.
  • Develop and automate KPIs reflecting department spend.
  • Drive site specific requirements at Ports, Rail yards, Hubs, etc. to support the most efficient logistics operations possible.
  • Define and develop Finished Vehicle logistics solutions that optimize speed, cost and quality.
  • Define and drive development and implementation of processes and systems.
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, and performance evaluation.
  • Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
  • Lead Negotiations with suppliers or internal customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years relevant experience with automotive logistics, port operations, transportation, and procedures
  • 5+ years of related automotive industry experience and quality management
  • 5+ years direct leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of multi-modal logistics pricing models (air, rail, truck, ocean, customs brokerage)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations at all levels.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with ability to meet project timelines.
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Experience with TMS software applications

Pay Transparency

VinFast Auto is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. The salary range for this role is $150,000-$190,000.
